2012.sh is a simple countdown script I wrote sometime back in January 2012. While it was written to count the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until the end of the Mayan Calender on December 21, 2012, it can be reconfigured to countdown to other events.
How to use it
This script can be adjusted for other events by modifying the xday variable such as birthdays and holidays. The script requires a compatible argument that the Unix utility date can use to convert into a timestamp.
